My role model in life
Let me start by asking everyone a question! How many of you actually have a good role model in life? Someone whom you can look up to? Think about it!
To different people, the definition of a good role model defers. Some may think that a good role model is someone who is well established in life or one who does charity work. One who motivates others to succeed in life, or one whom people look up to, FOR SOME WEIRD REASON OR OTHER. :)
Some may find this really weird, stupid and appalling all at the same time, but to me, Hilary Duff is my role model. The question "WHY?" must be lingering in all of your minds at this moment. Well, you may think shes just some teen queen famous for having a feud with her "fellow" wannabe teen queen Lindsay Lohan. Perspectives may defer and it's your jurisdiction to believe what you want to.
Hilary Duff is a proud ambassador for kids with a cause. It's a non-profit organization emphasizing the value of youth helping youth. This organization encourages children to reach for their dreams and never give up. One of aspects that I admire her for is that she knows how to project her image well, despite the negative influence the "Hollywood Life". Many people look up to her for who she is and how she behaves and speaks in public, and she has done well in this. I feel that being an ambassador for an organization such as kids with a cause is really worth while, because one get to interact with kids who are less fortunate than you are. It really makes their day when one spends quality time just talking to the children or just by bringing small little gifts, unlike wasting time and money on other things like vices etc. Hilary Duff has also participated in many events and charity drives to raise awareness for kids with a cause to help bring hope, happiness, encouragement, and smiles to children in foster homes, hospitals and homeless shelters. The Mtv Tv show punk'd was a big hit in the U.S where master prankster Ashton Kutcher went around pranking celebrities. After every prank, when the celebrities found out that they were actually being punk'd, a whole string of swearwords, curses and vulgarities flowed constantly until they are either contented with what they have said or that they are still in a state of shock. Unlike the norm, Hilary is one of the few that actually didn't go berserk when she got punk'd. Yes she did get mad and started yelling at Ashton for being mean to her, but she did not swear and curse like the other celebs. I admire people who don't swear and curse.
I am going to quote a phrase from A Cinderella Story, Hilary said, "Don't let the fear of striking out keep you from playing the game". This may sound really cliche but the fact is that people don't realize that they actually give up half way. This quote has taught me the essence of actually pressing in and not be afraid of the challenges that lie ahead of me. There's another quote which I would like to share with everyone as well. It's from Hilary Duffs fly. The song goes "Forget about the reasons why you cant it life, and start to try cause its your time, time to fly. When you're down and feel alone and you just wanna run away, Trust yourself and don't give up, you know you’re better than anyone else." Cliche and naive it may seem, it motivates me to succeed in life. There is only one you and there is no one in this world that is like you. If you can't be better than yourself, no one in this world can. You only have one life. Make the right choices and live the way you want to live.
Hilary Duff is an inspiration to me and I really look up to her as a role model, not because I’m madly obsessed with her, but because she motivates me to challenge myself and to be the best that I can be and not simply give up.
I would like to end with this. Any moment everything can change, for the good or the bad, its up to you to decide and take control of the situation and change it. If you do not believe in yourself, no one else will!
