Hello! This is the very nice new girl from work that ryan mentioned before...My name's Vanessa and I'll be Ryan's guest blogger today since he's too lazy to blog.
I shall only blog about the times I was with ryan since it's his blog after all...
Today I was supposed to meet ryan and steph to go shopping! With much conviction from steph that ryan has a flair as a fashion guru, we appointed and engaged him to be our fashion consultant for the shopping binge. But then, no-thanks to steph's absent-mindedness, she couldn't make it. So it was just ryan and me. (ok lol im not really good and everything so yeah ,maybe i just have good taste but thats all)
It didn't start off very well, plainly due to the fact that ryan was late. So if you haven't got him a bday prezzy, get him a watch please. So anyway, my patience was almost worn out when he finally appeared after 45 arduous minutes. (it was only 20 something minutes because we were supposed to meet at 5 an i dont mind a watch ahah i kinda need one..a ripcurl or quiksilver one will do (: )
After much deliberation, we settled for dinner at this eatery at Taka. The food was pathetic and the price was steep. If that wasn't bad enough, the service was dreadful. The staff actually spoke to us in Chinese for goodness' sake! I mean, who the hell takes your order in Chinese for a downtown place like Taka?! I must admit on a word of fairness that their calamari was of a fair standard though.
After dinner, we walked around town in pursuit of clothes/bags/accessories/whatever else worthy of my hard-earned money. It's an almost impossible task to find something nice and yet affordable I tell you. By the end of our shopping quest, I bought a necklace and a pretty pair of shorts.
Later in the evening, we walked aimlessly around until we had a drink at Spinelli (By the way ryan, I just remembered, u still owe me a few cents for the drink...Haha, but it's okay, I'm waving it off on account that you were a good fashion consultant). While we sipped our drinks, ryan's youth leader msged him for a list of the top 10 songs and artistes youths listen to today. The both of us brainstormed all the latest songs and artistes in mainstream music today but there was a slight hitch = we both don't listen to mainstream music. Thank God for mtv... It was fun thinking of songs/artistes and debating on which songs/artistes should stay in the list. Ryan was sad that The Veronicas didn't stay in the list cos they weren't popular enough. Haha, TYPICAL. (i just wanna say that the veroniacs are famous here aight they were number 2 on power 98)
By the time we left Spinelli, it was too early to go home, but too late to shop since all the shops were closed. It's a pity that Singapore has almost no nightlife on Sunday nights. So we went home not before we walked aimlessly a little more to stall time.
And that's about all I have to say for ryan's day today. I enjoyed myself though. Till next time (if there ever if a next ti...), ciao!
Vanessa
